As an addition to a traditional wedding ceremony, some couples choose to include a unity candle ceremony as well to signify the unification of two lives (or flames). This symbol is powerful as Bride and Groom each take their lit candle, and the flames of each combine to light the third candle, signifying now the total unification of the wedding ceremony and the newly married couple. My job as a non-denomination minister, is to watch over the process, and read some unity language that guides the couple into the meaningful combination of their flames (lives). I love a good unity ceremony.
