Traditional Indian Ceremony

As a non-denominational minister, I'm lucky enough to be invited to officiate a lot of different kinds of wedding ceremonies, and sometimes my part is very brief. In this traditional Indian wedding ceremony, for example, there were many elements that happened between Bride and Groom and the partners' families, that I had absolutely nothing to do with. It was beautiful, and symbolic, and reverent, but had nothing to do with the ideal of a wedding ceremony that the Western Hemisphere has. I absolutely love learning about these cultural rites and ceremonies as I meet couples from all over the world as I minister and officiate, and everyone is always so respectful and grateful and kind and supportive. I think that's my favorite part of being a non-denominational minister, I get to be with people on their best day.
