Handfasting Ceremony

Writer's picture: Greg JorgensonGreg Jorgenson

As a non-denominational minister, I kind of see it all. In a good way. Many wedding ceremonies incorporate what are known as "unity" features. In the pictured wedding, the Bride and Groom chose to include a handfasting ceremony, where a braided cord is draped over their hands, then overlapped, and tied into a knot signifying their union together. This takes some practice, but is a beautiful representation of the shared commitment two people make on their wedding day.
